Online Service Standards

Competitive Solutions Australia (CSA) offers a range of courses delivered online. We are committed to providing a high-quality learning experience for students and these online service standards explain our commitment.

Student Support
Competitive Solutions Australia provides the following support to help you with your study:

Trainers/assessors
As a student, you will regularly engage with your trainer/assessor through messages in Catapult (Learning Management System), email, phone calls and/or videoconferencing with your trainer.

The Competitive Solutions Australia trainer will respond to your queries within two business days.  The trainer will contact you to discuss your assessment with potential follow-up questions, and the assessment will be marked and returned within two weeks of submission.

IT support
Students can email admin@csolutions.edu.au to help resolve most issues. For more technical issues, students should contact Catapult support@catapult-elearning.com

Support services
As a Competitive Solutions Australia student, you will have access to the same support services as a student receiving workplace learning or face to face learning.

Students can access additional supports for Language Literacy and Numeracy needs and we can provide further external support services.

Student entry requirements and induction

Digital literacy
As part of the Pre-Training Review, we will discuss with you your experience in using technology and software programs. We assess all enrolling student’s digital literacy to ensure they can meet the following:

  • Application of Technology: Basic understanding of how to use digital tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, computer-assisted instructional software, Internet servers/browsers, and platforms for searching and communicating) to research, organise information, evaluate, and communicate.
  • Proficiency with devices – PC’s, tablets, printers, media players, etc.
  • Demonstrate and be able to apply the concepts of ethical/legal issues of using information technology

Requirements
Our Learning Management System (Catapult) is compatible with most computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones.  All you need is a connected device that is using an up-to-date internet browser. Google Chrome or Firefox is recommended.  Internet Explorer does not support all Catapult functions.

Learning materials
Competitive Solutions Australia ensures learning materials are presented in a range of formats, including interactive learning learning materials, guided content, PDF documents and videoconferencing with trainers.

Student engagement
Competitive Solutions Australia provides opportunities that enable you to interact with your trainer through emails, phone calls and video conferencing.

Ongoing feedback will be provided as you study through detailed feedback on your assessments.

The team are here to help, your trainer will monitor your participation to help you keep on track.  We will check to see how you are going within one month of your start date and contact you by email or phone if it looks like you need some help.

Students who do not respond or have not logged on within 3 months of enrolling will be withdrawn from the course.

Mode and method assessment
A minimum of two forms of assessment will be used for each unit of competency.  Forms of assessment will vary from unit to unit, but will include a combination of the following:

  • Observation
  • Knowledge questions
  • Workplace activities
  • Third Party Report

Trainers and assessors
All Competitive Solutions Australia trainers and assessors undertake regular professional development in the following key areas:

  • Online learning systems for delivery and assessment
  • Current training and assessment practices (Vocational Education Training) and
  • Knowledge of current industry standards and practices.
